Our Purpose
The BMFC Wellbeing Committee aims to create a community that supports and encourages wellbeing by providing a safe and supportive environment for all members of the club. We are committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing practices.
Our mission statement includes the following:
  • To make wellbeing support more visible and accessible.
  • To reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
  • To increase support networks for players, coaches, members, and the broader community.

Across the year we collaborate, promote, organise and host a wide range of events and initiatives with this vision in mind. Some of our newer initiatives include:
  • An inclusive football day in collaboration with SANFL
  • A second hand uniform and boots collection point
  • Encouraging parents to present guernseys to their child at U13 presentation night prior to round 1, with the aim of promoting connection and belonging amongst juniors’ families
  • Acknowledgement of the volunteers within our club
Responses to our annual Wellbeing Survey provided further evidence to reinforce the importance of the work we are doing. There are many positive comments about the impact our committee is having across the community, as well as a call for further action to build awareness of mental health, promoting and supporting inclusivity and continuing to organise and host affordable family events.

We are incredibly grateful for the support and donations we have continued to receive from our community; cash donations from generous members of our community, donations of vouchers and gifts for raffles as well as goods for us to sell at family days, allowing us to top up our funds for future events.
